Over the years you must have heard things about phones that are scratch proof and the glass on top being gorilla glass or sapphire glass that is truly unbreakable and can resist a certain amount of pressure only to realize that a drop from your pocket height can actually put those claims to the dust when you have your phone shattered into microns of glass.
This has been the case for years now and having spend a lot of money on phones people actually want something that would last them a long time – 2 years is the average life cycle of a phone but still you might want to hold a phone for that long with its screen intact. This problem was solved by Motorola when it introduced phone called the Moto X Force. I was really skeptical about the claims of the screen being truly unbreakable and wanted to test it out. Yes there were multiple videos online which showed that the phone has survived drop from over 1000 ft and survived but then again in those videos even the iphone survives a drop from a building which does not happen in real life.
I purchased the phone online to test its claim and see if the phone is actually worth the money paid and I have given the links below (at the end of the article) if you are interested in buying one for yourself or someone clumsy who keeps breaking the phone.
After getting the phone, I was pleasantly surprised. Online reviews had claimed that the phone is too dark because of the reinforced screen however that was not the case. The Moto X force actually performed better in many cases than the flagships of this time in terms of the quality of display. The display itself is a 5.4 inch Amoled display of 1440 x 2560 pixels with a pixel density of 540 ppi which is amazing for a phone for this price. Yes it is a little darker than most phones but people would rather have a clean safe display than a super bright cracked display. In this phone, that’s not the only thing that is good about it. The phone is actually powered by a Snapdragon 810 and 3 GB of ram giving you ample speed for high end gaming and multi tasking. It even has a Adreno 430 for the people who spend most of the time on their phone playing games to give you a lag free and jitter free gaming experience. It even has a 21mp camera and Moto Phones are known for its brilliant picture taking capabilities. The full specifications are given below:
- 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 Processor
- 3 GB RAM With 32GB / 64GB ROM
- 5.4 Inch Quad HD Display
- Nano SIM
- 21MP Rear Camera With LED Flash
- 5MP Front Facing Camera With LED Flash
- 4G LTE
- Bluetooth 4.1
- 3630mAh Battery
Looking purely at specifications, you can see that the phone is a great performer. Yes the current age processors are the Snapdragon 820 and 821 but that would ensure that you have to spend a heafty amount for the new processor that you just wont need in the real world unless you spend your time developing for the Android or get paid for playing games on your phone. The only thing missing in this device is a fingerprint sensor and it would have been great to add that but it doesn’t really matter much. The audio quality and in call audio of this device is great and the phone does not cut corners anywhere.
A new iteration of the phone is coming out in the form of the Moto Z Force which will also have a shatterproof display and when it is launched I will be providing the links below for you to buy it. But that phone will be expensive and I still recommend the Moto X Force over the Z Force for the time being due to the cost factor since on paper a better CPU is better but in reality you will not use it. Also, please bear in mind that the screen is unbreakable so it will remain safe nomatter what but you might dent your phone a little on the sides if you constantly drop it and you have butter hands.
If you are looking for a great all round performer with an unbreakable screen, and similar features (minus the mods) at a much cheaper price, I suggest you go in for the Moto X.
